The Erasto Cortés Workshop Museum (MUTEC) is one of the most important museums dedicated to printing in Mexico. In its collection are more than 900 works, ranging from the modern print of the first third of the 20th century and to works by national and regional artists of the contemporary era.
We also have a collection of Francisco Toledo's works, donated by the Oaxaca teacher; We also guard and exhibit the wide selection of prints, archives and objects of the teacher born in Tepeaca, Puebla, Erasto Cortés Juárez, one of the most outstanding Mexican engravers of the last century. Not only that, we can also count among our works that of other renowned artists such as Vlady, José Luis Cuevas, Manuel Felguérez, among others.
To receive our visitors we offer three temporary rooms and one permanent one on the top floor; to promote young artists and contemporary practices we open the Workshop Gallery on the ground floor; We also have an engraving workshop where it is instructed and trained under traditional printing techniques. We have a library specialized in visual arts, Emilio Ortiz, which has more than 4 thousand volumes for free and free consultation. There you can consult topics ranging from the history of universal art to specialized titles of contemporary art.
